Mizan argues the Islamic economic order from the Qur'an, the Sunnah, the practice of the Rightly Guided Caliphs, verified ijma', and the books of the four schools. What decisive text and Rashidun precedent settle, it holds without doubt. Its own reading, sourcing and reasoning it holds open to correction, with reference, from anyone who knows better.
The categories and their channels
What decisive text fixes is Category 1: we hold no doubt there, and the channel is correction and verification of our reading, never debate. What the Rightly Guided Caliphs established is Category 2: we do not doubt the precedent, and the one open question is whether it transfers, argued with references. Credentials carry weight in both, because the work is scholarly verification. The open field, Category 3, is argued by anyone, with name, credentials and email.
The ground of the four schools
Settled in the four schools: the Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i and Hanbali schools concur, each from its relied-upon position, and the claim stands with the settled claims, not the open field. Where the schools differ, on the division of profit in a partnership, on the period after which undeveloped land reverts, on the state's claim to zakat on batin wealth (gold, silver, cash and trade goods), on waqf upon oneself, on the gift made for a return, each school is given from its relied-upon books as valid ijtihad. Mizan founds no new school and draws no new line between Muslims.
Where the fiqh lives
Book One, Part II, the juristic argument (Chapters 4 to 6), and Appendix A, the standard of lawful taking on one page. Book Two, Chapter 5, zakat and its eight categories, with the schools' difference on distribution. Book Three, Part I, the method of transition derived from the Sira and its continuation under the Rightly Guided Caliphs.
We issue no fatwa
The books report the rulings of the muftis and the fiqh academies with citation and route the open questions to them. Whether a given contract is valid for a given person is theirs to answer.
How a correction is received
Read it. Verify it. Correct it if you can, with a reference, in the open, and it goes into the record under your name. Where a correction is sound, the book is revised and the correction is credited by name in its public changelog.
